Adeyinka Bello

Mr. Adeyinka Bello is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Shade of Women Foundation, TSWF. In this role, he oversees the general administration of the Trust and chair meetings on the progress of the Foundation.

He went to The Polytechnic, Ibadan, where he studied Physics with Electronics. After graduation, he worked at Pulse Telecommunications (Nig.) Limited, Satel Networks Limited and Basscomm Nigeria Limited, all in Lagos. He later relocated to the United Kingdom. Upon relocation, he did a bachelor’s degree in Mental Health Nursing at Bucks New University, and a master’s degree in public health at the University of East London. He is presently working in one of the National Health Service (NHS) Trusts in London.

Mr. Bello has been passionate in supporting the less privileged and is involved in many voluntary organisations within and outside Nigeria by trying to give back to the societies. He volunteers for Diabetes UK (DUK) and British Islamic Medical Association (BIMA), where lectures are delivered, and enlightenment given to people on some physical health concerns within the society like Diabetes, Cancer, and other ailments.

In the last few years, Mr. Bello has been involved in the care of people with mental health illness and support given to them. He observes that domestic violence, and other forms of abuse have been seen to be contributory factors to mental illness if they are not addressed early.

It is this experience that made him to be committed to the values of The Shade of Women Foundation and hope to, with other people of like minds, to help and support those who are affected by domestic violence and other forms of abuse within the societies.

Mr. Bello is married with children and grandchildren.
